ah, OK, RAR is only in read mode.

It's just that I'm more familiar with the RAR format. I've been using WinRAR for years. I tried using KGB archiver and although it does maximum compression it takes a very long time to do it.

RAR is a proprietary format, it can be uncompressed freely but the compression is patented
