The Windows XP Home is OEM (unmodified) and the Vista is OEM too (unmodified) both pre-installed on the laptops when I bought them
They both have all the Microsoft junk on them, IE, Outlook Express etc

C:\Program Files\Konvertor (that's all that was created - the folder was empty)
I'm logged on as Admin

On my desktop PC I tried to install it but all the Konvertor folders were created (Addons, cache, licences, menus, mplyer, Plugins, skin, Textures and WebTemplate .............. nothing else !) but no executable
This is as far as the setup got before Konvertor stopped responding

First kill the two instances of Konvertor (click the Process tab the click each Konvertor and click the button End process)
Then launch again the install program.

I only had to kill the top Konvertor and they both quit. I used the "End Task" button on the Application tab

Jean ............. do you know how to use Radmin (Remote Admin) ? Whereby you can access my computer remotely ?

I've lost count of the number of times I've tried to install it and it always stops at the same place No

At least I have a working 4.02 Build 5 and a portable copy of 4.03 Alpha 1 which are both working Wink

You told me that you used a " customised version " of Windows.
Your problem seemed to come from that version, did not it ?

I've been using the same "customised" version of Windows XP on my desktop PC ever since I built it. It's only the last one or two versions of Konvertor I've had problems with. I've reinstalled Windows several times in the last year or so and everything (except Konvertor) I have wanted to install has installed perfectly and all software on this PC is working 100%.
I am using PC Tools Firewall Plus instead of the Windows firewall and I use Microsoft's Security Essentials antivirus. Both are free programmes and as much as I hate to admit it, apart from my operating system, Security Essentials is the only Microsoft product I will recommend, it is very effective, as long as I remember to update the virus definitions on a daily basis.
When I built this PC I bought most of the components from the same place so I qualified for an OEM version of Windows 7 64bit (because my processor is a dual core 64 bit processor) but Windows 7 appeared to install correctly but when it had finished all I had was a blank screen ! I tried several times to install it and got the same result each time so I went back to XP Pro SP3.
Windows 8 is not too far off so maybe I will have better luck with that !
